Aims and Objectives

By the end of the program the
participants should better understand:

• how to use patient photographs or casts taken from a relative to choose the correct width and shape of a tooth

• the underlying principles of prosthetics in the dental laboratory

• how to set-up the anterior teeth

• how to set-up the posterior teeth

• the different techniques for waxing in natural features including “S” curves and the rugae and creating more natural surface effects

• the flasking of the denture and in-flask correction

• the principles of natural gingival colouring and how to reproduce it in the denture

• how to de-flask the denture so that the natural effects that have been created are not lost
