Sensation SL PASTE OPAQUES have an extremely smooth consistency and are easy to apply. To use, moisten a small flat brush with Sensation SL Opaque Liquid, then blot the brush before applying the opaque. The brush should be moist to prevent it from absorbing liquid from the opaque, but not too moist to add moisture to the opaque.
Sensation® SL is low-fusing leucite reinforced glass ceramic and the layering material for Cerpress® SL and layering porcelain for universal type 4 gold alloys. All aspects of this system, including the stains, are naturally fluorescent. The high content of leucite and small crystal size provides increased strength and superior light reflection qualities.

DIRECTIONS:
- Moisten a small flat brush with Sensation SL Opaque Liquid, then blot the brush before applying the opaque. The brush should be moist to prevent it from absorbing liquid from the opaque, but not too moist to add moisture to the opaque.
- If water is used to clean the brush, dry the brush thoroughly and re-wet with the opaque liquid. Then blot the brush before applying the opaque.
- When using Sensation Alloys apply the opaque on a sandblasted surface.
- Do not pre-wet the coping before applying the opaque.
- It is important that the opaque properly wets the surface of the coping. Place a small amount of the opaque on the opaque brush and “scrub” the opaque into the metal surface to achieve a good adhesion (wetting) between the two materials. Then finish applying the first coat of opaque to approximately 50%-60% coverage. Then fire as instructed below. Proceed with the second coat. Do not make the first layer too thick or tiny little cracks may appear after firing. These tiny cracks may also be a result of a thick consistency in the opaque.
- If the opaque is too thick or dried out add a drop or two of the Sensation Opaque liquid. Do not use water.
- Dry time is very important. Dry the opaques for a full 10 minutes with the firing platform all the way down. Make sure the idle temperature on the furnace is at 400°C/750 ° before placing the crowns on the firing platform.
- A good tip is to place the opaqued copings on a coffee warmer while the other copings are being opaqued.
- The finish of the fired opaque should be a matt finish with a slight sheen.
