In Every Light, Cerpress SL Shows Its Brilliance
Cerpress SL™ has always been known as a leucite reinforced glass with crystalline particles of 2-4 microns. The crystalline size and distribution is very similar to the morphology and microstructure of natural dentition, thereby closely imitating its optical effects. That will all change in the next several months! We will be announcing important updates and changes to the Cerpress SL system.
For those of you who love Cerpress SL as a lowfusing glass ceramic then you have come to expect all of these attributes: highly aesthetic, fluorescent, all-ceramic fixed restoration matched to Vita® Lumin® Shade Guide also possesses excellent lo wear properties. Cerpress SL offers both the layered technique and the staining technique; both use the same investment and same pressing cycle. Designed for single all ceramic restorations, i.e.; veneers, inlays, onlays and full crowns. The upcoming relaunch of Cerpress SL will impress you even more! Cerpress SL System will incorporate modern materials - which will make your restorations stronger. Its wear characteristics and aesthetics will astound! Stay tuned for more details in 2019!
SENSATION SL™ Low Fusing Porcelain
Sensation SL™ Low Fusing Porcelain is the layering material for Cerpress SL™ as well layering porcelain for universal type 4 gold alloys. This hydrothermal porcelain offers superior aesthetics and wear compatibility similar to natural dentition. All aspects of this system, including the stains, are naturally fluorescent.
Sensation SL™ stains are non metallic, rare earth stains, with excellent fluorescent properties. These stains are not just for external shading, but may also be used internally, thus expanding aesthetic creativity. When processed, the Sensation SL stains are absorbed into the pressed core. This allows the color to come from within the restoration giving it more depth and vitality.
Benefits to using the Cerpress Ceramic System
• Winner of Dental Advisor's "Editor's Choice Award". As reported, Cerpress SL achieved excellent ratings for wear resistance, shade match, and vitality.
• Chairside polishability
• Low Fusing Ceramic System
• Kindness to opposing dentition
• Shade stabilty
• Every component flouresces naturally from core material to porcelain and stains
AESTHETICS - NEW GENERATION
Experience the aesthetics of a new generation of pressable ceramics, Cerpress SL. Cerpress SL is based on a two phase glass ceramic, leucite crystals embedded in a glass matrix. In addition to the absorption, reflection and transmission of light, which primarily determine color and transparency, light refraction plays a vital role in the perfect imitation of a tooth. The crystal size and distribution of Cerpress SL ceramics is very similar to the morphology and microstructure of natural dentition, thereby closely imitating its optical effects. Sensation SL® is a leucite reinforced low fusing porcelain similar to Cerpress SL with excellent wear characteristics.
SCIENCE IN THE DESIGN AND MATERIALS
What makes Cerpress SL together with Sensation SL low fusing porcelain truly unique? They are both leucite reinforced glass matrixes with leucite particles (2-4 microns) evenly dispersed so that light reflects in the same manner as natural dentition. Traditional feldspathic porcelain can have particles as large as 30 microns, allowing light to refract dissimilar to natural dentition. Because of this new technological advance in ceramics, metamerism is minimized and Cerpress SL restorations “simply disappear in the mouth”.
PRECISION OF FIT
The aesthetics and precision fit are clearly evident, as shown in the above before and after photographs of eight Cerpress SL veneers. The small particle size and unique formula allows Cerpress SL to perfectly mimic the technicians wax up, providing better fits than cast alloy. Whether is be an inlay, onlay, full crown or veneer, the precision fit of Cerpress SL is unparalleled.

SHADES
Shades are matched to the Vita® Lumin® Shade Guide and comprise of 16 shades from A1 to D4. Seven translucent ingots are available for the staining technique, T, T1, T2, T3, T4.
Hollywood Shades: There is a heightened awareness for a whiter smile. The Cerpress SL System offers Hollywood Shades A00, A0, MA00, MA0, B00, B0, MB00, MB0, to match the hard to achieve bleached look. Plus 3 new Hollywood shades MW, HA0, HB0.
Prep Color Shades: Preparation colors vary as much as shades do. There are many situtations in which the patient’s dark preparation color needs to be concealed. Cerpress SL offers three degrees of translucent ingots to choose from depending upon the color of the preparation. Once the desired shade has been selected for the restoration, it is extremely important that the shade of the preparation be determined with Cerpress SL Prep Color (PC) Guide. It is important that both the restoration shade and the preparation shade be communicated to the dental technician. The proper degree of translucent ingot can then be selected for the Cerpress SL core, dependent upon the prep color.
TRANSLUCENCY
High Translucent: Approximately 28% opacity, these pressable ingots are used when a light prep color is indicated or with inlays and onlays to reflect the inner tooth color. They are also used for darker shades and in the posterior region when the prep color and amount of light are less significant.
Medium Translucent: With an approximate opacity level of 55%, these unique shades have a perfect balance of opacity and vitality providing beautiful aesthetics. They are designed for the lighter shades including the Hollywood shades, to eliminate the greying effect when a seated over a dark preparation and are particularly indicated for laminate veneers. These medium translucent ingots are available in 13 shades.
High Opacity (HO): With an opacity level of approximately 85%, these new pressable ingots were developed for masking very dark preparations, post and core situations as well as tetracycline stained teeth.
Medium Opacity White (MW ): This 55% opacity pellet is perfect for those extreme Hollywood shades. It offers the perfect balance of translucency and opacity to provide those extra white shades with natural vitality without any of the grey.
FLUORESCENCE
Every component of the Cerpress SL System fluoresces naturally from the core material to the Sensation SL low fusing porcelain and stains. The fluorescing agent enables the final restoration to mimic natural dentition in every lighting situation. This visual assessment experienced by doctors and dental technicians have revealed that Cerpress SL is especially “lifelike” in comparison to other systems. The fluorescing quality of a material is normally demonstrated by the use of ultraviolet light. This demonstration is used to show how a material is affected by those particular wavelengths which are a component in everyday lighting conditions. We are exposed to many variations of UV light throughtout the day as well as at different times of the year. If your restoration does not react to UV light, as does natural dentition, it will not appear natural. When prescribing a pressable ceramic for your patients you want the most natural looking restoration. Prescribe Cerpress SL for restorations which look like natural dentition in every light. Sensation SL stains are non metallic, rare earth stains with excellent fluorescent properties. These stains are not just for external shading but can also be used internally, thus expanding aesthetic creativity. When processed, the Sensation SL stains are absorbed into the pressed core. This allows the color to come from with in the restoration giving it more depth and vitality. This unique quality also prevents the color from easily being removed during adjusting, polishing, or normal wear by the patient. Some earlier generation all ceramic restorations use a metallic oxide stain, which can appear flat and two-dimensional. They can also easily be removed during adjusting, polishing, and normal wear by the patient. Cerpress SL restorations assure shade stability.
